THE Spaniel and Retriever Training Demonstrations at this year’s CLA Game Fair look set to be a big draw.

The demonstrations are being supported by Yorkshire-based canine supplement experts, PetSpec, who have quickly developed a good following in the sporting and performance dog sectors.

Ian and Wendy Openshaw are heading the Spaniel demonstrations while the Retriever events will be led by John and Sandra Halstead.

Both demonstrations will take place in the International Arena each day and are expected to be very popular at the 50th CLA Game Fair celebration at Blenheim Palace, July 25 to 27.

Based in Shropshire Ian and Wendy Openshaw between them have an impressive list of wins with both Spaniels and Labrador Retrievers.

Ian has won the AV Spaniel Championship six times, the Irish Championship once and numerous other awards.  He has made up 11 Labrador Retriever Field Trials Champions and in total they have 71 Field Trial Champions to their credit.

John and Sandra Halstead are both A Panel Field Trial judges and have judged many prestigious events, including the Retriever Championship. They will show the various stages of a training programme with dogs at different levels of development.
